  7. Note: If you attended the December 2006 (Jamestown, ND) Healthy Choices for Bright Futures Training, you only need to attend the second day of training.
Abstinence Education Should...
  1. Please answer the following questions regarding abstinence education. NOTE: your answers will not determine your eligibility to attend the Make a Sound Choice training.

  3. Have as its exclusive purpose to teach the social, psychological, and health gains to be realized by abstaining from sexual activity;
  5. Teach abstinence from sexual activity outside of marriage as the expected standard for all school age children;
  7. Teach that a mutually faithful monogamous relationship in the context of marriage is the expected standard of human sexual activity;
  9. Teach that sexual activity outside of the context of marriage is likely to have harmful psychological effects;
  11. Teach that bearing children out-of-wedlock is likely to have harmful consequences for the child, the child's parents, and society;
  13. Teach young people how to reject sexual advances and how alcohol and drug use increases vulnerability to sexual advances; and
